Liver is considered to be most important organ of the human. Liver performs important functions which are essential for survival. It helps in digestion and assimilation. It stores essential minerals and vitamins such as copper, iron, B12, Vitamins D,A, E and K. RBC also know as red blood cells are produced inside the liver which carry oxygen around the whole body and the cells known as Kupffer which devour harmful microorganism in blood which helps them in fighting infection. Liver plays an important role in removing foreign bodies also known as toxins from gut, hence liver plays an important role in detoxification. A whole set of complex chemical reactions are used by lever in detoxifying harmful substances. The various enzymes convert toxins which are fat soluble into substance that are water soluble which then could be excreted through urine or bile. It becomes difficult to excrete the fat soluble toxins entering the body. They have high liking for fat tissues and cell membranes which are made of proteins and fatty acids. Toxins could be stored for many years in the tissues of body. The toxins could be released during fast, exercise and stress. The release of these toxins could also be accompanied by headache, stomach pain, fatigue, nausea, palpitations and dizziness and poor memory The liver could neutralise a range of toxic chemicals produced externally (from environment) as well as internally in the body. Due to nutritional deficiencies because of poor diet the metabolic processes goes awry as a result the type and level of toxins produced internally increases. The externally produced toxins which are detoxified by lever come from environmental source like contents of foods and bowels, air and water. Various herbicides and pesticides like DDT, dioxin, PCP, 3-D, and PCB etc. are found virtually in all fat tissues considered. Even eating organic food that is unprocessed requires detoxification as it contains naturally occurring toxics. There are several roles played by lever in detoxification such as 1. Filtering of blood so that large toxins are removed 2. Secretes and synthesis bile full of fat soluble toxins and cholesterol 3. Disassembles toxins using enzymes by either directly neutralising toxins or converting it into other intermediaries which are neutralize then. To prevent cancer lever’s detoxification is essential. Most of the cases of cancer are due to the environmental carcinogens like cigarette smoke, water, food, and air combining with nutrition deficiency which are require for detoxification. The susceptibility to cancer increases with exposure to carcinogens associated with detoxification that is slow.
